What exactly do we mean by "blackjack heroes"? As far as players are concerned, a blackjack hero is a successful professional blackjack player who shares the secrets of his success with other players. Edward Thorp
Professor Edward Thorp is known as the father of card counting. Like other gambling geniuses, Thorp was a master mathematician and a physicist. Stanford Wong would master four-deck blackjack and write a book about it, "Professional Blackjack". He also wrote works on sports betting and craps. The term "wonging" is taken from him; it denotes joining a blackjack game only when the count is good for the player.
Henry Tamburin
Tamburin is also counted among blackjack heroes thanks to his many writings and lectures that help players win more in blackjack. Not surprisingly, Henry Tamburin has a background in mathematics and also chemistry. According to one tale, Tamburin played a couple of hands in blackjack while waiting for his wife in a casino and lost all the money he had with him. He then devoted himself to mastering the game, which was just what happened.
Tamburin has since dedicated himself to helping average blackjack players to win more and play smarter. He teaches you about proper money management, betting strategies and such.
